To submit means to give over or yield to the power or authority of another. I love that definition. That is exactly what we need to do to God. Submitting to God means giving everything to him, your heart, mind, soul, and spirit. This means submitting your job, your school, your body, your chores, your hobbies, your relationship, your marriage, your everything, to God. Matthew 22:37 says, "Jesus replied: "'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.'" We should all know that love is an action word, and in this context this also means submit. How can you love like that without submitting to God first? We need to first learn how to submit to God daily and watch what he does our lives.
The bible talks about submission a lot. We are supposed to submit to one another out of reverence for Christ (Ephesians 5:21). Wives, submit to your husbands. Husbands, submit to your wives. Christians, submit to your Lord and Savior. Many times our pride gets in our way and it keeps us from doing what God tells us to do, especially when it comes to submitting. Submission is frequently thought of as something degrading but it really is a very humble and loving act. Knowing how to submit shows strength, not weakness. It shows your trust in God. God honors that!
I've been experiencing God's love and grace and forgiveness so much lately. It's amazing what happens when you submit to God. I've been going through things and overcoming strongholds and obstacles like never before. Once I made a decision to submit my all to God and never look back, the joy and peace in my life has sky rocketed. I've grown closer to God. I REALLY experienced God's love for me. On top of my spiritual blessings, things in my natural life have been going so much better. I'm telling you, there's nothing better than being close with God. "Submit therefore to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded." That is James 4:7-8. Draw near to God, submit to Him, and watch him work. Watch your desires change to Godly things. Watch yourself start to be disgusted with the things of the world. Since the time I start submitting to God, I always long to be in his presence. My prayer life has changed. I am starting to experience God in a way that I have never before. I urge you brothers and sisters, submit all you have to the Lord today. Dig deep into his Word. Stay in his presence. Be steadfast in prayer. God has a work for you to do in the kingdom and has many blessings in store for you. God loves you beyond measure. God bless.
