"The Lord will fight for you, you need only to be silent."
Exodus 14:14
How many times has someone hurt you or done you wrong, and you wanted revenge? Has someone ever destroyed something of yours or hurt a family member and you wanted to retaliate? Well, that's totally understandable, but as children of The Most High, that is not how we should react. We have the most powerful weapon of all, the greater one living in us, and we need to start using it! No matter what the situation is, I can promise you that us butting in to everything solves nothing. God is just looking down on us shaking his head. There's so much going on in the world today and no one knows what to do or who to turn to. If we all just chill out, be still, and allow God to speak to us, we would know exactly what we need to do. God never intends for us to have to fight a dirty battle, especially without him. But unfortunately, we always get in the way and prevent God from doing what he's trying to do. He says "Be still and know that I am God". We can never hear it because we're too busy trying to do things our way. A lot of times God can't do what he wants to do for us because we can't learn to lean on and depend on him. We're too busy trying handle situations ourselves. And 9 times out of 10, we are only making matters worse.
Sometimes God does allow us to go through things to make us stronger or to teach us an important lesson, but because we aren't seeking his face and staying in his presence we have to go through our trials a lot longer or we make them far worse than they should be. Then, we have the nerve to blame God or to think he isn't on our side smh. James 1:2-4 says, "Consider it pure joy, my brothers [and sisters], whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything". It's not saying that you should be happy that you are going through, but that you should be happy in knowing that God will get you through. Trust God. Depend on Him. Stop trying to fight your battles. God says he has it in control. When the walls of Jericho came tumbling down, Joshua and his crew didn't have to lay a finger on the wall. They didn't even have to take out their swords or any weapons at all. All they did was obeyed God and God took care of the rest. God wants you to "cast your cares on him, for he cares for you". God really loves you. Stop trying to get revenge and let God fight your battles!
