The good news is, even though years go by and times goes on, God is always the same. God is always here. God is always with you, whether you came into the new year smiling and laughing or hurting and crying. Hebrews 13:8 says, "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever". That means God never changes and his power and love for you will always be the same. If God got you TO 2015, God will get you THROUGH 2015. My pastor said, one Sunday, that God will bring the finish line to you. That's to show you that in His eyes, you made it. You reached the finish line. He doesn't care if you're leaping across or dragging your legs across. I find that so inspirational and so encouraging. Remember this year as you're going through trials and hard times, God is there helping you along the way and will be with you all the way to the finish line. God is always cheering for you. Each year you grow in God, the enemy may seem to be coming at you harder, but God is always bigger, stronger, and more powerful. He IS the Great I Am. No matter what, never forget that even though it's a new year, God is still the same God sitting on the throne. Never neglect to thank Him for all that He is. God loves you and longs for a personal, intimate relationship with each and every one of us. Let's start our year by acknowledging God. Thank God for 2015! Happy New Year!
Each year at the end of the year, people go on these "new year new me" tandems. We're all so excited about the new year because we feel like it's a fresh start to life. We have a clean slate and have another chance to make ourselves better. The reality of it is, January 1st is just the next day after December 31st. There's nothing "super special" about that day. At least, for Christians, January 1st shouldn't be THAT big of a deal. Yes we thank God for letting us see another day and another year, but we should be changing and improving ourselves throughout the year. Our spiritual growth and motivation and excitement for our spiritual growth should be going to new heights whether it's January, May, August, or October. And although it's a new year, some people are still going through the same hardships and dealing with the same problems. But, fortunately, there is good news.
