"Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ."
Galatians 1:10 "Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ." I'm sure this scripture probably hit home with some people. It, for one, hit me when I read it. I definitely used to be one of those people that aimed to be everyone's friend and make sure everyone around me is happy, and at the mercy of my joy. I realized that when I made everyone else happy, I didn't have joy and ultimately, God wasn't getting the glory out of my life. I'm so grateful that God opened my eyes and guided back on the right path. Sometimes we have to do a self-check and make sure our heart and mind is where it should be. If it's on Christ, keep it there. If it's not, get it there. I'm not saying to not care about anyone else's opinions or feelings toward you, but simply saying that Christ's is more important. As Christians, we should ultimately be concerned with how God views us and our lives. Are you living to please God? Or are you living to please men? I guarantee you, living for God and getting approval from Him is all that matters, and it heeds a peaceful and joyous life.

"Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved." Acts 4:12 In this scripture, Peter is talking about Jesus Christ. Jesus had just healed a man who had been lame for years. Peter is stressing the importance who salvation is found in. We need to know and do the same. To get to God, you have to go through his Son. Don't let others deter you from what you know to be true. Salvation is only found in Christ Jesus, and in Him alone. Choose Him. Don't wait until it's too late. Jesus Christ loves each and every one of you and there is nothing you can do to separate yourself from the love of Christ.
Luke 7:47 "Therefore, I tell you, her many sins have been forgiven--as her great love has shown. But whoever has been forgiven little loves little." Forgiveness is a hard thing to do, but if Jesus Christ could forgive us, we can definitely learn to forgive others. In this scripture, Jesus forgave a woman that had been living a sinful life for years. He told her to go and sin no more. In that moment she saw the love of Christ, and that is what we need to show as Christians. No matter what someone did to you or said to you, forgiveness will set your heart free and allow you to receive the blessings God has for you. If you can forgive more, you can love more.Proverbs 3:26 "Have no fear of sudden disaster or of the ruin that overtakes the wicked, for the LORD will be at your side and will keep your foot from being snared." As Christians, so many things go on around us and it seems as if things are caving in on us. But fear not, for God will protect us and keep us from hurt, harm and danger. When disaster is everywhere, God has our back and protecting us on all sides. He will keep us from being snared and snatched up by the enemy. This world is getting more and more wicked and we can only be saved by God, through Christ Jesus. Have faith that God knows and God cares. The Lord is on our side!
God never said once you come to Him life would be easy. It's going to get tough sometimes and you will go through your share of trials and tribulations. But with God, you will get through them all. We have all the power through Jesus Christ and can withstand all the enemy throws our way. We are victorious in Christ Jesus! Don't you forget it! 2 Corinthians 4:8-9
We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed. "For no matter how many promises God has made, they are “Yes” in Christ. And so through him the “Amen” is spoken by us to the glory of God." 2 Corinthians 1:20 This scripture really spoke to me! Whatever God promised, it will come to pass. He does not make promises and take them back. His promises are always Yes and we have to remember the important part, that it is IN CHRIST. Christ is key! Everything we do and say has to be for Christ and with the mindset of Christ. It is encouraging to know that God never makes too many promises, and that although He has made so many promises (since the beginning of time), they are all yes in Christ. And when we believe in Him and his Son, we are able to say "amen" in agreement to those promises, actively saying we know that God can and He will!
Hashtag this. Hashtag that. Social media is taking over the world almost. But this concept of a #hashtag brought some nice thoughts to my mind. People hashtag things that are trending, things they want to remember, and that they want others to remember. When people think of you, what would they hashtag? If you were trending, what would your hashtags say? If you were no longer here, what would people hashtag about you? These are questions we should ask ourselves as we live our lives. If we are living our lives pleasing to God, we wouldn't have to worry about how we are trending. - 1 Thessalonians 4:1-12 The big thing we should be concerned about is what God would hashtag about us. If God isn't pleased, then we need to change something. Live your life with the intention of making God trend. Let's strive to make God famous, not ourselves. Romans 12:1 says, "Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God--this is your true and proper worship." Worship God with your life. Worship Him with how you trend and how even you, hashtag.
#HolyLife #LivingRight #MakingGodFamous #SavedLiving #ChristianLifestyle #ChristLike 1 Timothy 4:12 "Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith, and in purity." No matter your age, you can make a difference in this world and in the lives of the people around you. There's no "you're too young" or "you're too old" with God. You can live a life of purity and holiness at whatever age you are now. When you give your life to Christ, the Holy Spirit lives within you and helps you to live your life setting an example in speech, life, love, faith and in purity. You can do it! Keep God first and strive to live like Him daily. Let the little, courageous boy in the picture be your motivation. ;)
It's important to be steadfast in the Word and in prayer, and to stay on the path of righteousness. You never know when God will send an assignment to you or a person that is in need of YOUR help. God will put people in your path for a reason and we need to be ready in all seasons, to help them along and do what God is calling us to do. You need to be ready, willing and able.
It's also important to know what the scriptures say about helping others. We are to be willing to help other people, whether it's in a time of need and they ask you, or if it's just a time where generosity takes over. Always be looking for ways to help others. Something to think about when helping others, is advice. What kind of advice are you giving? Good advice or godly advice? Strive to grow closer to God and stay in your Word, because when someone asks for help or advice, we need God to speak through us. We should want God to speak up and speak out, not our flesh. We can only achieve this if we have been in His presence. Matthew 5:16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven. We are called to help everyone, whether they are saved or not. Many times, it is those that are unsaved who need the help the most. They definitely need spiritual help, and it's our job as believers to point them to Christ. Galatians 6:2 Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ. This is telling us to not shun or condemn others, but to be there for them and help them along in their journey. We are to do as Christ tells us to. Go through the situation with a brother or sister in Christ. Our family in Christ is to pray with us and for us about any situation we need help in. Do your part in the body of Christ. Romans 12:13 Contribute to the needs of the saints and seek to show hospitality. Once again, our help is necessary for the body of Christ. Be nice and kind. This allows us to seem approachable so others feel safe and can come to us in confidence. They can trust that the God in us will help them through their storm in life. The saints need to learn how to come together and love each other as we're told. Be hospitable. Be available. Be ready to help. When I was in Costa Rica I had plenty of spiritual new experiences that helped strengthen my relationship with God. One of those experiences was when I had a conversation with a Mormon. I can't remember how the conversation got started or what led to it, but somehow we were talking about the differences between Christianity and Mormons. He also asked me to read the Book of Mormon. We talked about why The Bible was the only book we needed and what was wrong with having another resource that account the life of Jesus. After the conversation I was appreciative to have that experience and grateful for God giving me the right things to say. I was able to be understanding while also defending my God. That experience really inspired this post. I had never conversed with a Mormon before or had to really stand up for what I believed in without one of my parents to be around. I saw the power of God at work and realized how important it is to stay in the Word of God. I learned that it's also important to know about other religions and what they believe in. It's important to know about others beliefs to know where they contradict Christianity and how they might challenge you. Be sure to be strong and steadfast in what you believe in and represent the Lord and Savior of all, Jesus Christ! "Whoever acknowledges me before others, I will also acknowledge before my Father in heaven. But whoever disowns me before others, I will disown before my Father in heaven."
